Help UNICEF Reach Children and Adolescents with Mental Health Services and Support

by UNICEF USA

Child and adolescent mental health is one of the world’s most neglected health issues. According to the World Health Organization, 10%-20% of children worldwide experience mental disorders. May is Mental Health Awareness Month – a time to reduce stigma around mental health conditions, promote self-care, and help those in need access quality mental health services and resources.

Together with partners, UNICEF develops programs that improve the mental health and psychosocial well-being of children, adolescents, and their caregivers globally. In 2022, UNICEF-supported mental health and psychosocial support interventions benefited 13.5 million parents and caregivers. In emergencies, UNICEF reaches children in need of psychosocial support through health facilities, mobile clinics, schools and informal learning centers, and child-friendly safe spaces.

Mental health is vital to children’s health. Thank you for supporting UNICEF’s efforts to ensure mental health for every child.
