While UNICEF continues assessments, it is estimated that over 222,000 people have been affected and more than 7,600 have been sheltered.

To date, 500 people in shelters have benefited from water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) and personal protective equipment (PPE) provided by UNICEF, including towels, mattresses and blankets. In addition, 105 families (approximately 420 people) have been reached with food items in Usulután municipality, and two water tanks (2,500 lts) have been installed benefiting 388 families in four communities (Husisilapa, Tacachico, La Joya, El Paisnal). UNICEF is continuing to provide assistance in shelter, food, water, WASH, psychosocial support and health services, are expected to be the main humanitarian needs of children and families affected.
