Every child has the right to safe water. Yet around the world, 2.2 billion people - nearly 29% of the global population - do not have access to safe drinking water near their home.
To combat this global issue, UNICEF is on the ground, working in over 100 countries to provide safe water and sanitation to the world's most vulnerable children. In 2018 alone UNICEF:
- Helped 18.6 million people gain access to safe water
- Helped 10.8 million people gain access to basic sanitation services
- Provided emergency water services to 43.6 million people
This World Water Day, just one dollar can provide safe water for a child for 60 days. With your support, UNICEF won’t stop until every child has access to safe water.
