As the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic endures, it perpetuates an unprecedented socioeconomic, humanitarian, and human rights crisis which is taking its toll on the most vulnerable worldwide.
UNICEF is leading efforts to procure and supply doses of COVID-19 vaccines on behalf of COVAX, the vaccine pillar of the Access to COVID-19 Tools (ACT) Accelerator. The ACT Accelerator is a ground-breaking global collaboration to accelerate the development, production, and equitable access to COVID-19 tests, treatments, and vaccines.
Equitable vaccine distribution is in everyone’s best interest. We’re not safe until we’re all safe. That's why UNICEF is working with partners like Expedia through the “Give the World a Shot” campaign to reimagine and develop a world that is a safer and more equitable place for communities and children everywhere.
By investing in COVID-19 vaccine-related efforts, you will provide UNICEF and partners with the operational support needed to address this unprecedented global response, including:
- Deliver 2 billion doses of the vaccine in over 180 countries, in some of the most vulnerable communities around the globe;
- Distribute 500 million COVID tests and 245 million treatments so countries can easily detect the virus and slow its spread while waiting for the full vaccine roll-out;
- Provide equitable access to 900 million testing kits, 165 million treatments, and programs to build vaccine confidence;
