Equality Now is an international organization committed to creating a world in which everyone has equal rights under the law and full enjoyment of their human rights.
We know that the law has historically been used to marginalize, disenfranchise, and oppress and that women and girls have been especially impacted by discriminatory laws that treat them as second-class citizens. But we envision a world where the law is used to promote equality rather than codify misogyny, where constitutions respect human rights rather than embed discrimination, and where the criminal justice system arbitrates with integrity rather than perpetuates harmful gender and racial stereotypes. In 2025, Equality Now:
- Contributed to 17 legal reforms across nine countries that stand to benefit 69 million women and girls.
- Worked with 173 partner organizations across 72 countries, building coalitions that drive lasting legal and systemic change for women and girls.
- Submitted 82 legal recommendations to governments, the UN, and regional bodies, helping shape stronger protections for women and girls worldwide.
- Trained more than 2,100 changemakers and invested approximately $5 million in grants and in-kind support to strengthen women's rights organizations globally.
